The challenge

A new lead usually arrives as an email address and nothing else. Turning that into a qualified prospect means finding the company, sizing it, working out what they do, judging fit against the ideal customer profile, and deciding whether it warrants immediate attention.

Done by hand that is roughly twenty minutes per lead. At volume it is either a full-time job or, more commonly, it silently stops happening and every lead gets treated identically regardless of value.

What I built

A webhook accepts an email address and the workflow enriches it in parallel rather than in sequence. People Data Labs supplies firmographic data, Perplexity researches the individual and the company independently, and an optional scraper pulls the LinkedIn profile. Running these concurrently is what keeps total time in seconds rather than minutes.

The sources merge and pass to a Claude-backed agent that scores the lead against ICP rules held in a Google Doc. Keeping the criteria in a document rather than hard-coded in the workflow means sales can revise what a good lead looks like without touching the automation — the rules stay owned by the people who understand them.

Routing is by score. Hot leads scoring eight to ten trigger an instant Slack alert with a personalised email draft attached, so the rep acts while intent is still live. Warm leads at five to seven collect in a digest channel for batch review. Cold leads at zero to four log to the CRM and nothing else, which is the point — they stop consuming attention.

Outcome

Processing takes 30 to 60 seconds per lead against roughly 20 minutes manually, at a cost of about $0.08 to $0.15 per lead, and every lead gets consistent research instead of whatever the rep had time for.
