The challenge
Wellness apps fail at the same point: day four. The onboarding is exciting, the first workout is satisfying, and then the user faces an open-ended app with no clear instruction for today and quietly stops opening it.
Stacking features makes it worse. An app that does workouts, nutrition, lessons and habit tracking presents four things to fail at simultaneously, and the user who misses one tends to abandon all of them.
What I built
The app answers "what am I doing today" before anything else. The dashboard opens on the day’s workout with progress already visible — the session, its duration, the muscle group and how many exercises remain — so the user resumes rather than decides. Removing the decision is what protects the streak.
Commitment is scoped in finite programs instead of an endless feed. A 21-day Mind & Body Reset at three to five minutes a day is small enough to start and has a defined finish, which is the opposite of the open-ended commitment that causes drop-off. The wider 90-day arc gives the whole journey an end point to aim at.
Nutrition is compressed into a Daily Blueprint — protein goal and carb limit as ring gauges rather than a food diary — so the user reads their status in a glance instead of logging everything. A weekly meal tracker shows consistency at a level where one missed day is visibly survivable rather than a broken streak, and lessons plus an AI Fit assistant sit in the tab bar for users who want depth.
Outcome
The design targets the drop-off point directly: today’s action is always visible, commitments are finite, and tracking is light enough to sustain past the first week.
